GARMENT MAKING

Here you will find my work in the 3D. Starting from 2D and working my way into 3D is usually how my design process works. Scroll down and view the various projects worked on throughout my time at SCAD. There is a variety as you look through: from experimentation, to technical development, to fully finished work. Hope you enjoy!

DRAPE WITH SHAPES

Drape With Shapes is 3D experimentation of how the fabric can create forms around the body. I combined sketching, with fabric drapes cut into various shapes, and then a digitally created a pattern in Adobe Illustrator. The shape was manipulated in various ways to create various silhouettes.

COAT RECREATION

Recreated a coat from the brand GANNI from their Fall 2021 collection. The garment was a green structured wool coat that I examined and tried to closely replicate in my design as I could. I decided to take a vintage approach to it. Inspired by structured garments of the 80s, I used a woven multi-colored brown wool/rayon suiting, lined with gold silky satin polyester. After this project, I now understand how to make a fully finished garment.

RUNWAY LOOK RECREATION

Recreated a look from Max Mara's Fall 2020 RTW collection. Used it as reference when drafting my patterns, deciding the fabric I wanted to use, and then constructing it. This sleek black look was used with organza and crepe back satin. View project below to see my process!

UNCONVENTIONAL FASHION

Created a collection of garments all created from founded materials. Explored shape, form, silhouette, and volume in each work. WEARABLE ART: The garment becomes an art piece. Each look communicates a visual story of how art and fashion can blend together beautifully.

GARMENT CONSTRUCTION PROCESS

Below is a documentation of my garment making, collaged on boards. Scroll down and you will see my design ideation, draping explorations, and cutting patterns on fabric. I also documented my final looks, which I have put onto my creative boards.
